Description: Impressive! That's the word that springs to mind whilst overlooking the endless rows of white crosses and Stars of David. The Omaha Beach War Cemetery is the biggest American cemetery in Europe, providing a last resting-place for over 9000 soldiers. The 170-acre plot also features a memorial and a small chapel. The cemetery provides a view over Omaha Beach, where the landings took place during D-Day 6th of June 1944.

Interesting note: The starting scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" was recorded here.

Memorial in front of the cemetery.

Giant map of the allied troop movements in Western Europe.

Simply overwhelming: The endless rows of crosses.
